LCA Staff Biographies

 

 

Pastors Greg and Melissa Morrison

 Pastors Greg and Melissa Morrison have been married for over 14 years and have five children. They are also currently hosting two exchange students for GLCA.  They have both been in ministry for over fifteen years.  In the early years of Greater Glory Family Church (Gateway Family Church), Pastor Greg served as youth Pastor and Associate Pastor.  Pastor Melissa served as Children's Pastor.  They have a passion to see the body of Christ fulfill the call that God has given them. They began Gateway Legacy Christian Academy in 2005 and under their care and guidance it has grown into the wonderful school it is today.


Al Schindewolf

Al is the new Gateway Family Church Administrator. He is in charge of day-to-day operations in the building. He has been a vital part of Gateway Family Church for many years. He lives in Edwardsville with his wife. He has two children and is currently hosting two exchange students for GLCA.

 

Candice Seidler, BA, MA  

 Mrs. Candice Seidler was raised in Collinsville, IL. She received her BA in Education with a Minor in Religion from Webster University. She earned her MA in Professional Counseling and her MA in School Guidance from Lindenwood University. She holds a MO teachers’ certificate in school guidance counseling and holds an Administrators Certificate from ACSI. She spent six years at home raising her children before coming to GLCA.  Prior to staying home, she was a lead teacher in a multi-age, fully-inclusive classroom. She joined GLCA during the 2008/2009 school year. She is married with six children. Mrs. Seidler is currently the principal and teaches some high school classes.

 

 

 

Kimberly Boyd, BS

Mrs. Boyd is in her fourth year teaching at GLCA. She currently teaches the middle school students. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 2007. She did her student teaching in the Bunker Hill school district. She holds an IL teacher's certificate in elementary and middle school education. She lives with her husband, a firefighter, in Caseyville, IL and has one daughter, Hunter.

 

 

Lisa Scott

Mrs. Scott has been with GLCA since its founding in 2005. She has offered her service in many ways over the years. She has volunteered, worked as a substitute, and is currently  the first and second grade teacher. She comes to us with years of experience working with children and youth.  She lives in Edwardsville with her husband and four children.

 

 

William Ellington BS 

 Mr. Ellington has a BS in Education from SIUE . He holds an IL teaching certificate. He teaches a variety of upper level classes. These will include his specialty areas of Bible and Social Studies. This will be his third year at GLCA. He lives in Granite City, IL.

 

Amy Harris, LPN

Mrs. Harris joined GLCA in 2010-2011 as a school nurse and health educator. She holds her CNA and LPN and is currently pursuing her RN certification. She comes to us with five years experience in nursing. She is also assists with student transcripts, attendance, and record keeping. She lives in Granite City with her husband and four children.

  

 

Emily Johnson, BS

Mrs. Johnson holds her BS in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Concordia University. She comes to us with several years of experience teaching in a small Christian school. She teaches upper level math and science course. She lives in Collinsville with her husband and infant son.


Kim Jackson, BS 

Mrs. Jackson holds a Bachelor's from SIUE in Education. She works on a part-time basis with students needing extra assistance in a one-on-one or small group setting. She also works for the school in collaboration with the Edwardsville Public School District to receive special education assistance as needed for our students. She comes to us with several years experience substitute teaching in the public schools. She lives in Collinsville with her husband and two children.


Cheryl Cochran, BS

Mrs. Cochran comes to us with many years experience in running a government school-age child-care program. She holds a teaching degree and license. She is currently one of our elementary school teachers. She lives with her husband and two children in Troy, IL.


Becky Garcia

Mrs. Becky is our PreK/K teacher. This is her second year teaching in the GLCA early childhood program. She lives in Granite City with her husband and daughter.


Kim Sutherland

Mrs. Sutherland teaches Drama to our junior high and high school students.  She has been a home-school mom for many years and has worked with home-school cooperatives directing theater productions.


Hope Hutchins

Mrs. Hutchins works on a part-time basis doing small group reading reading instruction with the elementary school students.
